Ironclad Arrives: Smash Through the Horde with Pure Force

By Ares Interactive / June 24, 2026

Some heroes rely on speed.
Others rely on magic.

Ironclad relies on a warhammer the size of a small cart and the strength to swing it nonstop.

The newest Warrior’s Guild hero has arrived in Adventure Mode, bringing a heavy-impact playstyle built around crushing AoE damage, battlefield control, and unstoppable momentum. If you like getting right into the middle of the horde and turning enemies into rubble, Ironclad is built for you.

Built for Frontline Combat

Ironclad’s core gameplay is simple in the best possible way:
get close, hit hard, and never stop swinging.

Her War Hammer attack smashes enemies in wide cone attacks, alternating left and right with every strike. Instead of relying on projectiles or summons, Ironclad dominates through raw melee pressure and consistent area damage.

The closer enemies get, the worse things become for them.

This makes Ironclad especially effective against:

  • Dense enemy packs
  • Narrow pathways
  • Swarm-heavy stages
  • Enemies that pressure melee range

She’s a true frontline brawler that rewards aggressive positioning and constant pressure.

Shockwaves That Control the Battlefield

At Level 20, Ironclad unlocks Shockwave.

Every few seconds, she slams the ground and sends out a massive expanding ring of force that damages and slows enemies caught inside. This ability gives Ironclad much-needed crowd control while also helping create breathing room during larger waves.

And once upgrades start stacking, Shockwave becomes even more dangerous:

  • Faster cooldowns
  • Stronger damage
  • Longer slows
  • Additional tremor pulses

It’s not just about damage—it’s about controlling the pace of the fight.

The More Pressure She Takes, The Stronger She Gets

Ironclad’s Level 40 ability, Unyielding, is where her fantasy really comes alive.

Every time she takes damage, she gains stacking bonuses to:

  • Damage
  • Armor

The longer the fight continues, the harder she becomes to stop.

This creates a unique gameplay loop:

  • Stay aggressive
  • Absorb pressure
  • Build stacks
  • Hit even harder

At maximum stacks, Ironclad transforms into a walking fortress glowing with molten energy.

For players who enjoy “bruiser” style gameplay, this is where Ironclad truly shines.

Cataclysm: Total Battlefield Destruction

When Ironclad’s ultimate meter fills, she unleashes Cataclysm.

Ironclad leaps into the air before crashing down with a massive hammer strike that devastates everything nearby. But the impact isn’t the end of it.

The ground itself continues to tremble after the slam, damaging enemies who remain inside the area.

This gives Cataclysm two layers of power:

  1. Massive burst damage on impact
  2. Persistent area denial afterward

Used correctly, Cataclysm can:

  • Clear entire waves
  • Lock down choke points
  • Punish elite enemies
  • Melt bosses standing in the tremor zone

It’s one of the most satisfying “heavy impact” ultimates yet.

Evolution: Aftershock

Ironclad’s evolution, Aftershock, takes her from powerful to overwhelming.

Now every hammer strike leaves behind tremor cracks that continue damaging enemies after impact. Better yet, overlapping tremor zones stack together, turning the battlefield into a chain of destructive shockwaves.

The result?

  • More sustained AoE damage
  • Stronger area control
  • Huge synergy with aggressive melee positioning

By the late game, entire sections of the map become danger zones for the horde.

Tips for Playing Ironclad

Want to maximize Ironclad’s power? Here are a few strategies:

1. Stay in the Fight

Ironclad performs best up close. The more enemies around you, the more value you get from cone swings and tremor zones.

2. Use Damage to Your Advantage

Unyielding rewards controlled aggression. Taking some hits can actually make you stronger.

3. Stack Area Upgrades

Area scaling dramatically improves:

  • Hammer coverage
  • Shockwave size
  • Tremor zones
  • Cataclysm impact

Big swings become even bigger problems for the horde.

4. Control Choke Points

Cataclysm and Aftershock are strongest when enemies funnel into tight spaces.

The Warrior’s Guild Has a New Juggernaut

Ironclad delivers exactly what heavy melee fans have been waiting for:

  • Massive hammer swings
  • Ground-shattering impacts
  • Scaling durability
  • Constant battlefield pressure

She doesn’t dance around danger.

She walks straight through it.
