The Walking Dead: Aftermath Update 0.7.0 – Alliances, Ultimate Abilities, and More

Survivors,

Update 0.7.0 is one of the biggest updates we’ve released for The Walking Dead: Aftermath, introducing new social systems, powerful combat abilities, fresh progression paths, new content, and a wide range of gameplay improvements.

Whether you’re joining forces with other survivors, or mastering Ultimate Abilities, there’s never been a better time to fight for survival.

Form Alliances and Survive Together

The apocalypse is easier to face with allies.

The new Alliance system unlocks at Level 10 and allows players to create, join, and manage survivor groups while working together toward shared goals and rewards.

Alliance Features Include:

  • Alliance Chat
    • Customizable Alliance Banners
    • Alliance Exchange Shop
    • Member Contribution Tracking
    • Alliance Leaderboards
    • Player Contribution Rankings

Alliance leadership includes Leader, Co-Leader, and Member roles, with additional quality-of-life features to help Alliances stay active and organized.

Whether you’re looking for friendly competition or coordinated teamwork, Alliances bring an entirely new social layer to Aftermath.

Alliance Defense: A New Cooperative Event

Alongside Alliances comes Alliance Defense, a brand-new cooperative event mode.

Alliance members submit defense runs throughout the event, with scores contributing toward their Alliance’s overall performance.

Features include:

  • Alliance-wide score progression
    • League rankings
    • Promotion and demotion between leagues
    • Milestone reward tracks
    • Blessings & Curses gameplay modifiers

Success requires teamwork, strategy, and consistent participation from every member of your Alliance.

Ultimate Abilities Have Arrived

Every survivor now has access to a unique Ultimate Ability.

As you eliminate enemies, you’ll build Ultimate charge and unleash powerful character-specific abilities capable of turning the tide of battle.

Ultimate Abilities are supported by:

  • New Ultimate Charge Bar UI
    • Active Duration Indicators
    • New visual effects throughout the roster

Examples include:

  • Carl and T-Dog unleashing powerful area damage
    • Heath firing enhanced chained shots
    • Rick delivering devastating parallel attacks
    • Yumiko splitting shots and applying status effects
    • Daryl and Michonne gaining temporary combat buffs

Each survivor now feels more distinct than ever before, opening new strategic possibilities for team building and progression.

Lumber Run Has Been Reworked

Lumber Run has received a major overhaul.

The mode now focuses on collecting caches, navigating toward extraction points, and making smart decisions while under pressure.

New features include:

  • Cache collection progression tracking
    • Objective guidance arrows
    • Dedicated speed boost mechanics
    • Improved flow and pacing

The result is a faster, more focused experience with greater rewards and clearer objectives.

Introducing the Survivors Card

The new Survivor’s Card provides ongoing monthly benefits designed to support your progression.

Benefits include:

  • Daily Gem rewards
    • One free Magnet every day
    • One free reroll per run
    • Lumber Run x2 Speed Mode
    • Increased production speed
    • Increased building speed

The Survivors Card delivers value throughout the month while helping accelerate account progression.

New Content Arrives

Update 0.7.0 expands the world of Aftermath with new enemies, abilities, and gear options.

New Boss: The Beastmaster

A terrifying new boss enters the Boss Arena rotation, bringing fresh mechanics and a deadly new challenge.

New Gear Effects

Discover new ways to build and customize your survivors with additional unique gear effects, including:

  • Counter Attack
    • Flame Aura
    • Area damage while moving
    • Standing-still bonuses

Visual and Audio Updates

This update also includes:

  • New survivor passive icons
    • New Ultimate Ability visual effects
    • Extensive audio improvements

Weapons, enemies, pickups, gacha interactions, survivor reactions, and more have all received significant audio upgrades.

Quality-of-Life Improvements

We’ve made numerous improvements across the game to enhance clarity, usability, and overall player experience.

Highlights include:

  • Emoji support in chat and text fields
    • Improved Survivor Star Rank interface
    • Better Gacha information and visibility
    • Shop and offer presentation improvements
    • Equipment merge usability improvements
    • Chapter number display in the pause menu
    • Improved power score visibility
    • Improved stamina messaging

Balance Changes

As part of this update, we’ve continued our ongoing balance efforts.

Changes include:

  • Enemy stat retuning across Levels 23–68
    • Alliance Defense difficulty adjustments
    • Powerup balancing
    • Gear effect balancing
    • Melee survivor scaling improvements
    • Boss immunity to stun and slowdown effects

We’ve also addressed multiple level and collision issues across Highway, Quarry, and Forest Chapter 46.

Bug Fixes

This update resolves a variety of gameplay, progression, UI, and stability issues.

Notable fixes include:

  • Fixed Chapter 68 completion hard-lock
    • Fixed Lumber Run progression restrictions
    • Fixed Premium Pass purchases not counting toward daily shop quests
    • Fixed hero overlap issues in Star Rank and Gacha interfaces
    • Fixed end-screen closing issues
    • Fixed inbox-related issues
    • Fixed Alliance scrolling issues
    • Fixed turret texture flickering
    • Fixed visual effects remaining on the ground
    • Fixed multiple equipment merge issues

Additional fixes and stability improvements have also been implemented throughout the game.

Important Lumber Run Adjustment

To ensure long-term balance within the redesigned Lumber Run experience, some players who progressed beyond intended limits in previous versions will have their maximum Lumber Run level adjusted.

The new cap is based on campaign progression:

(Highest Campaign Level × 2) − 1

Players affected by this adjustment will receive 1,000 Gems via in-game mail as compensation.

We want to be transparent about this change and thank everyone for their understanding as we continue improving the mode.
